“I started working on the production for The Lotus Child in 2021, with the intent to really showcase my production skills on this project. My fans know I produce, but they don’t know how important it is for me to be a multi-faceted artist. With that in mind, I branched out and explored, and brought in other musicians to help me bring my vision to life” Che explains. “With The Lotus Child, I had an opportunity to work with one of my favorite artists; Rapsody. It was a long journey trying to get the record finished and cleared. We recorded two different versions of this song, and thankfully, got it finished and cleared a week before its release; but my team made it work! Thank you to my team and thank you to Rapsody!’

“The Lotus Child includes some of the best music I’ve ever made. “Shadow Puppets” is my favorite, and to be able to work with a member from the Last Poets was truly an honor. “Black Girl” is filled with black women empowerment energy, “and “Angels” is a song I dedicated to my little brother and uncle who were both murdered, and they were both special pieces of my life” Che details. “”Wis Love” is a song I wrote and dedicated to the love of my life, my husband. True love has inspired me in ways I never thought imaginable. It’s a blessing and an inspiration.”

“The Lotus commonly serves as a sacred for purity, rebirth and strength. Because Lotuses rise from the mud without stains, they’re usually a symbol of purity. I look at it as a metaphor for beauty coming out from the mud; I am a child of that—“even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus produces the most beautiful flower.”
