Lane Beckstrom – Looking Out | album

Lane Beckstrom is a Chicago based musician who has been an in-demand bass player and a contributor to some of the city’s biggest releases of the last 10 years – and now, he’s stepping up to center stage as a solo artist for the first time.

About as well-seasoned of a musician as one could be at his young age, Lane started out as a teenager in the cross-genre live band Kids These Days, getting notable acclaim as part of the Save Money movement. From there he’d go on to collaborate with The JuJu Exchange, Knox Fortune, and Resavoir, and contribute to the Chance The Rapper & Nico Segal-fronted project, Donnie Trump & The Social Experiment’s ‘Surf’, which found him working with an all-star cast including BJ The Chicago Kid, Raury, and Eryn Allen Kane.

Now debuting as a singer/songwriter (as well as producing, playing synths, drums, and of course, bass) – Lane’s debut LP, ‘Looking Out’, is a wide-eyed, sunny dive into the young artist’s own world, practically bursting at the seams with a variety of imaginative colors, textures, wildlife, and flowers abound.

Co-produced with Paul Cherry, and recorded and mixed at his studio The Dungeon in Jefferson Park – ‘Looking Out’ also features a strong supporting cast of fellow Chi City talent, including fellow Kids These Days alumni Macie Stewart, Will Miller of Resavoir and Whitney, guitarists Matt Gold and Reno Cruz, and drummers Spencer Tweedy and Jeremy Cunningham.
