For the second installment of our new Fresh Selects Remix Series, we linked up with one of the current reigning kings of the bootleg flip – K, Le Maestro – for an official re-work of Figmore’s cherished ode to a childhood crush, “Rosie.”

A teenage phenom when he first started making major waves through his white label remixes on Soundcloud, and now a young O.G. of sorts still in his early 20’s – the Congolese born, London-based producer gives a percussion-heavy punch-up to the song’s rose-tinted nostalgia, complementing the original’s synth-led indie funk with a refreshing splash of Broken Beat.

One of the songs in the FSX catalog that has become a crate staple for many of our favorite DJ’s this past year, “Rosie” was the first single from ‘Jumbo Street’ – JUICEB?X & 10.4 Rog’s debut album together as Figmore. With “Rosie” leading the charge, the album has only continued to gain more steam and new listeners as time has gone on – getting nods and co-signs by everyone from Questlove to Mndsgn to NPR Tiny Desk.
