ArOzA Crew – The Asphalt EP

In the summer of 2021, the ArOzA Crew released the tune “Asphalt” as single. Shortly thereafter, the then still unknown band was perceived as a promising newcomer in the HipHop scene. Interviews were given with BET Urban Vault UK, PULS, and the Süddeutsche Zeitung and the record label Expanded Art Records also got in touch to license the song for a 12inch vinyl. Instead of just one single song for a 12inch, the band offered EAR an entire EP with more songs from the time Asphalt was created and fitting remixes. For remixes, Flip from Texta and Maniac from the Demograffics were won over. Flip, a rap star in his country Austria, remixed the song “For Da Nation” which features London rapper Rece Miller. Maniac from the Demograffics, known for his work with Liquid, Dexter and the TRIBEZ, did the remix work for the title song “Asphalt“. Also on the EP the joint “Roswell Incident”, a bomb by 90Wyse from Buffalo in the United States on which the ArOzA crew gave a feature. The 12-track EP is rounded off with the instrumentals of the songs and remixes.

What’s Realness? Realness is a lifestyle, an attitude towards life. It is the essence of what HipHop’s all about. Unfortunately this realness has been nearly completely lost in the last few years and is only rarely found in recent productions. One whack song followed by another is released to generate plays and to enter the charts. The Realness, the values, the art and the soul of this African American culture is being sold for some small change. Marlonhil is now stepping into the ring to revive HipHop with realness.
