“It’s been a doozy of a year with triumphant “ups” and devastating “downs”. I want to deeply thank everyone who supported my new “nODDyODD endeavor” this year. I enjoyed it all so much that I made this remix EP in time for my birthday simply to high five myself. One of the songs I chose to remix was “Heatwave” with my friend Zumbi. I had the privilege and pleasure of producing roughly 2 dozen Zion-I songs over the decades, and I’m honored beyond words to have been able to pass the mic with him before his tragic passing this year. Adam Theis put the Jazz Mafia touch on it with some soulful artistry on Trumpet and Trombone. Thanks homie, and thanks to my fellow Mighty Underdog homie Lateef the Truthspeaker who crushed his verse on the “Molecules [REMIX]”.
