Pugs Atomz – Test Drive LP
In life everything starts as a “Test Drive” you don’t know how it will go but you try it out anyway and hope for the best. Throughout my career, I have tried my hand at many forms of art. Some came easy, but others I had to work at to get better and develop my passion. This suite of music was made to express that, and to be played together in one listen. Which is something that I feel is very rare in this time of singles. So sit back, and let it play out through your best speakers. If you don’t mind. let me know what record resonates the most with you?. – Pugs Atomz
For Pugs Atomz’s 13th studio album, he teams up with 600 Block Records for an enjoyable ride through the boom-bap and eclectic sounds we have come to know and love from him. 600 Block’s own Tusk 57 handles the majority of the production on the album. Standouts like “Cadillac on Michigan Ave.” featuring Killah Priest and Chris Crack. The summer feel-good track “Test Drive”, and carefree vibes of “Green means GO!” give light to the producer’s range and shows Pugs in great form. Frequent collaborator Awdazcate aka The Waffle King supplies the house/afrobeat vibes on “Bumper cars then doubles back with the so Chicago sounding “Parked by the lake. Rounding out the album producer Hexsagon gives the backdrop to two of the more serious records in this collection with “Sunsets in America” and “Windows 64”. Hex adds some soulful background vocals that compliment the vibe of the records, and elevate the feel.
