I made this joint December 29th, 2018. I was bumping “Slauson Boy 2” towards the end of the year – getting myself motivated for the New Year. I chose to remix his song “Down As A Great” because that’s how I felt about Nipsey’s legacy and was inspired by his spirit, authenticity, and motivational attitude.

A few months later on March 31st, 2019, Nipsey was gunned down in front of his Marathon Clothing Store in Los Angeles. DAAG man. I was hurt. I didn’t know Nipsey Hussle personally, but I REALLY wanted to work with him because I felt like he was a big part of the heart of LA.

This one right here goes out to the city of Angels, the late great Nipsey Hussle, his family, and everybody who was a fan of what the brother was doing as I was. R.I.P Neighborhood Nip. The Marathon Continues.”
