SamuelJones. “Greed” feat. Sicario Sosa
“Greed” was originally inspired by my frustration with poverty in America and throughout the world. I was watching interviews from rappers like 2Pac, and their passion for the needy and the less privileged inspired me to speak out with my opinion on this subject. My stance on this matter derives from Scriptures such as, Hebrews 13:16 “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Matthew 5:42 “Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.”
Proverbs 14:31 “Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.” After I had written and recorded my verse, I knew I wanted to feature another rapper on the track to tell their story. I hit up Sos, and he said he’d be down to hop on it. His story, along with the concept of the song, mash perfectly. Overall, my goal with this record is to reach people’s heart with the message.
