KINETIK & Newselph – The Simple Life
We are living in a state of emergency. While many of us are struggling to survive even with stockpiling and panic purchases, Kinetik teams up with Newselph to show how you can still thrive with just the bare essentials.
On The Simple Life, Kinetik presses the stop button on everything around him. From the TV to the CD player to social media – he mutes the noise and opts for a quiet moment of ‘woosah’. On the first verse, he wistfully highlights the guilt that can sometimes arise from taking a lapse from the rat race. The second batch of bars finds him looking forward to linking up with the crew again but with less frolicking and fanfare and more celebration and fellowship. Newselph’s production is perfect for the stripped-down stanzas. The sultry sitar tones invigorate a comforting score, and the bass plods along with a pleasingly pulsating pop. Consider this to be the soundtrack to your self-isolation.
