Ceschi – Incesticide feat. Open Mike Eagle, P.O.S & Onry Ozzborn [audio]
Apparently Factor had done a remix for a Canadian band that broke up before ever using this instrumental. We came across what he had done during a session in Saskatoon. I thought it was such fire that I pretty much had to use it. I don’t normally ask for a lot of features on my records…it’s pretty rare. At the time I had very personal reasons for uniting my friends Onry and POS on a track together. This seemed like the perfect one for those guys to rock, but it was formatted as a track for four people. I had never worked with Open Mike Eagle on a track before even though we had toured together and known each other for close to a decade! He seemed like the perfect person to ask. Conceptually I wanted us to write some kind of eulogy to scenes of our youth, specifically the “indie rap†world we all grew out of which has undoubtedly shifted dramatically from the days that first left us mesmerized. The reference to Incesticide is not only a shout out to one of my favorite childhood bands, Nirvana, but also directly referring to the story I tell in the liner notes of Sad, Fat Luck.
