John Yancey” was the 2nd album Illa J released with Jakarta Records in 2018, following the already very successful release of the prior album „HOME“ in 2017. Subsequent Illa was now invited by Red Bull Studios Berlin to play and record the essence of his Calvin Valentine (Mello Music Group) produced and self titled album „John Yancey“, accompanied and supervised by german engineer Cristian Prommer. The outcome is this Live EP containing four tracks performed by Illa J and the JD3, a band featuring such outstanding musicians like composer and sound engineer Able Addington on the bass, David Mrakpor (aka MR DM of Blue Lab Beats) on the keys and Duayne Sanford (Christine & The Queens) on the drums.
