Passport Rav – Malcolm on Twitter feat. Napoleon da Legend [audio]

Malcolm on Twitter plays with the juxtaposition of the civil rights era contrasted with hotep-hating modern day millennialism. It compares radical picket fence signs with lackadaisical social media statuses and poses a simple yet layered question: what if Malcolm X was on Twitter? Would you take him seriously? Or would he be just another black conscious man vying for attention? Would Black Twitter support or hate?

It’s a song set to probe, pressure and question society’s trolling and outrage culture, taking hip-hop seriously, using it responsibly and still allowing it to be dope enough to vibe to. This song’s release date is time sensitive, as it falls right in line with Malcolm X’s birthday this week, on May 19th.
