Detroit’s Son, Guilty Simpson wields his mighty pen to inscribe 5 heavy hitting beats sculpted by Reckonize Real. The Queens New York beatmaker gathers some of the finest source materials and constructs his best drum combinations yet. Together they build the perfect foundation on this collaborative LP.

Guilty commands each track with his signature slow flow and motor city laced lyrics. From the opening track “Got Your Back” which features melodies by Georgia Ann Muldrow, we can tell this is the start of something monumental. The follow up track “Can’t Runaway” features Massachusetts mainstay M-Dot and Mayhem of EMS, reminding us why we must stand strong in tough times. “No Love” solidifies that both Guilty and Sacramento stand-out Chuuwee are not looking for validation in the club. “The Whole World’s My Ashtray” and “High Standard” both treat the listener to smoke induced lyrics over a dark atmospheric back-drop. The latter featuring scratches carved out by Deff Cutz. A solid creation finished with hammering piano to build it up and take it down.
