Rest in peace DJ Devastate (1982-2018)

I’ll See You is the product of the last time DJ Devastate stepped into the studio. In the words of K. Zaar himself:

“This song started to come together less than a week before the tragic passing of DJ Devastate. It was our first collaboration project that started by a fluke with me just horsing around with a beat. Devastate immediately started throwing his ideas at me and after only 30 minutes we had put together all the elements in this song. Since we both thought we still had a lifetime together on this earth, we didn’t bother to finish. Less than a week later, I get the crushing news that my friend, Per Ronge aka DJ Devastate, had passed away in his sleep.

After the initial shock I decided to continue to work on this song and finish what we started. It turned out to be an emotional journey, but also strangely therapeutic.

I am eternally grateful for the time we had, and for that weekend that I got to spend with Per before he passed.
