Futurewave – Wav.God [album] (feat. Daniel Son, J Scienide, Recognize Ali, Hus Kingpin & more)
In a market ruled by artist like Drake & Tory Lanez, one producer goes against the grain in the GTA ( Greater Toronto Area) with a sonic, new wave, boom bap sound.
Futurewave, one half of the Toronto based power producer group The Lost Info has got a plethora of sounds and styles and is showcasing them all in his newest, highly anticipated release “Wav.God”.This project comes on the heels of a very productive 2017 in which Futurewave and his team The Lost Info (Ol Man 80zz & Blanxx) released their first official project “Epiphany: The Lost Project” with Brooklyn rapper Justo The MC.
The Rexdale native also release a solo project with Heem Stogied entitled, “Godz Gift”.Futurewave’s other past works include two EP’s he trail blazed on the production side called, “GHP is like†& “ To Kill A Criticâ€.
Both projects were released with his former group Grindhouse Project. He would later go on to produce a collaboration project called “Put’em Up High” with one of Grindhouse Project members, Trace Motivate.
Futurewave’s influences has no bounds, as it ranges from old school to new. He has cited that as youngster he was inspired by legends like Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, Nas, Gangstarr, & Jay Dilla. Some of his more current influences include Alchemist, Bozack Morris, Mike Dean, Wondagurl and Daringer. With these influences, his production coincides perfectly with the level of mastery and diversity he is drawn to musically from the past and present.
“Wav.God” is sure to peak the average hip hop junkies interest, but Futurewave insist that this project was done during his “experimental stages,” so be sure you will here a lot of different vibes on this body of work. This project features a list of top shelf emcees on every joint and will not be strictly your average beat cd. The featured artist include, Got Perrion, Raz Fresco, Mookie Jones, Nowaah the Flood, Asun Eastwood, Recognize Ali, Flashius Clayton, J Scienide, Daniel Son, Heem Stogied, Justo The MC, Hus Kingpin & Trace Motivate.
