The game has been diagnosed with amnesia – the worst case of it ever seen in a musical genre. Optimists will attribute this to the art forms relentless ability to reinvent itself – pessimists will chalk it up to the commodification of the music and the watering down of the message within. On a macro scale its musical evolution – on a micro scale its a dream that is forced to relentlessly transform or be rendered obsolete. This one is for the artists who stuck it out.
