Indian Agent will release their album “Meditations In The Key Of Red” on Oct. 13th via Home Skillet Records.

Indian Agent is the collaboration between sidereal visual artists and musicians Yéil Ya-Tseen (Nicholas Gallatin), OCnotes (Otis Calvin III) and Zak Dylan Wass. Historically, the Indian Agent was a post filled with settlers appointed by the colonial U.S. government to control indigenous populations. These non-Indigenous Indian Agents managed and enforced oppression of indigenous civilization throughout Turtle Island, overseeing rape, murder and the brainwashing of minds, bodies, souls, land and culture in the name of the United States of America.

In adopting this title, Indian Agent shifts and reverses the brainwashing and destruction of past Indian Agents. The group replaces destructive false agency via their songs, their purpose and lineage. They recognize their existence as a product of the violent history of the US, w/ Indigenous, African and European ancestry, and come from boreal and tropical rain forests, deserts, islands and oceans: carrying the songs and stories of the land and their people. In sharing their stories and songs, Indian Agent become the agents of their instinctive desire: sharing peace, light and vision within the world.

“Meditations In The Key of Red” features guest appearances from Meshell Ndegeocello, Tanya Tagaq, Budo (Macklemore producer and trumpet player), Phen Ray and Qacung.
