Rob Cave – Hold Ya Head [audio]
After releasing Ahead of Schedule with his Lessondary fam last summer, Brooklyn emcee Rob Cave is finishing up his next solo album… and he’s found a home for it here at HiPNOTT Records.
Rob’s forthcoming album, On Everything I Love, due this spring will include features from Homeboy Sandman, Donwill & Von Pea (both separately & together as Tanya Morgan), Che Grand, Elucid & Jermiside with production by BrickBeats, Von Pea, Jermiside, Che Grand, and Homage.
Check out the first single from the album today with the BrickBeats-produced funk jam, “Hold Ya Head”, featuring Spree Wilson on guitar.
“I wrote Hold Ya Head, to remind myself and others that in these troubling and divisive times, whether you choose war or peace, you have to stay mindful not to get so lost that you forget what your fighting for. When you give in to fear, hatred, and intolerance, even in opposition you reflect it and will lose both the fight and yourself. So meditate, write it down, shout it out, find an outlet, find a way to Hold Ya Head and you’ll be goodie.” – Rob Cave
