Fluent “Make It” ft. Blu + “The Bed” ft. Colby O’Donis [audio]
For the second single off his upcoming ‘Carolinafornia Nightmare’ LP, Fluent teams up with LA’s Blu on “Make It,†an anthem for anyone who’s ever chased their dreams and worked to make them a reality.
Both Cali-residing rappers sound great together over New York producer J. Cardim’s atmospheric instrumental. And it’s a fitting backdrop for both artists to wax poetic about simply wanting to be the best at their crafts. “I got big dreams that are this long,†Blu spits in his opening verse before making a slick Manute Bol reference. And Flu follows it up with his own knowledge on the hook, “Grind and rhymin’ all my life, I’m just really want to know what’s next.â€
As Fluent’s ambition propels him forward, he understands that the grind is never easy and it never stops. The thing is, it’s the result of that grind—like the music that you’ll find in ‘Carolinafornia Nightmare’—that makes the hard work worth it.
“Make It†can now be streamed, and is available as the 2nd instant grat track off the iTunes pre-order for Carolinafornia Nightmare. The 12 track LP which boasts features and production from the likes of Colby O’Donis, Lantana, Yung LA, J. Cardim, D.R.U.G.S., and of course Blu, drops Nov. 11 through Fluent’s Supreme Regime imprint, via EMPIRE Distribution.
iTunes: Carolinafornia Nightmare – Fluent
As we get closer to the release to Fluent’s latest full length effort, ‘Carolinafornia Nightmare,’ the Los Angeles-based rapper takes his rhymes (and ladyfriend) between the sheets on the super-catchy new single, “The Bed,†featuring Colby O’Donis.
The radio and club-friendly joint finds Flu once again linking with New York producer J. Cardim, who laced the preceding single “Make It,†featuring Blu. While that track also had a serious low-end, “The Bed†is a straight-up banger, built on huge synthesizers and drums, making for strong crossover appeal for the bi-coastal emcee.
Not only that, but the track features one of the catchiest hooks on the entire album from a cat who’s been lacing hits for years. That’s the Queens, N.Y. singer/songwriter, Colby O’Donis, who broke through in 2008 with a feature on Lady Gaga’s first hit single, “Just Dance.†As you might imagine, though, his vocals are a bit more suggestive this time around, because “The Bed†doesn’t hold back with its sex-positive message.
“The Bed†can now be streamed, and is available as the 3rd instant grat track off the iTunes pre-order for Carolinafornia Nightmare. The 12 track LP which boasts features and production from the likes of Blu, Yung LA, TwanBeatMaker, D.R.U.G.S., and of course, Colby O’Donis and J. Cardim, drops Nov. 11 through Fluent’s Supreme Regime imprint, via EMPIRE Distribution.
