Asad Ill “Free Your Mind Too” [audio]

Produced by Crem’e

As a member of South Central’s current landscape of rising MC’s, Asad Ill is scheduled to drop his debut album Manifest Destiny on January 22, 2016 with The Order Label. To put it in simple terms, Manifest Destiny is for those seeking the purest in hip hop. The lyrical prowess and poetic symmetry of the flows are incredible, dropping metaphors in every bar and dedicating his craft to reaching the highest class of MC’s in hip hop history.

Beyond the wordplay complexity, the rhymes have deep purpose, reporting on the unrelentless nature of social evils and the duality of hope that rests behind it all. Asad ILL has the power to quickly touch people with his music, much so in the way Bishop Nehru, Vince Staples and Kendrick Lamar have brought back a sense of intelligence to this era’s mainstream field of creators.

With the production elements changing from Kanye West meets Wu-Tang to floor collapsing levels of bassed out trap, Asad ILL shows a level of wordplay mastery and cohesion in each of these environments. Like Dead Prez, Immortal Technique, KRS-One, The Coup, Ras Kass and other lyrically complex and politically aware MC’s, his flows fire out of the speakers with heat. There’s not a track on Manifest Destiny that doesn’t give an inspiring sense of knowledge and depth, rapped as if his time in the booth is his last on earth.

Asad III’s Manifest Destiny has the intellect and musicality to become a classic hip hop record for 2016. Production was put together by an in-house crew connected to the label, including Nobody, Big Game Huntaz, Creme, Gypsy Mamba, and Taurus Scott. Big Game Huntaz is a production duo that is new to the world and is one to keep on your radar, comprised of Low End Theory’s Nobody and Grammy Award winner Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez aka Eureka The Butcher.
