DJ Rude One is a revered member of Chicago Hip Hop’s community. A firm believer in paying dues, proving your skills, and being a man of character, Rude is pretty much that dude. His Goodness series brought all the best DJ’s to the Windy City, and given a platform to a long list of local DJs (me included). What some may not know, is that Rude is also a producer and was 1/2 of the duo Single Minded Pros along with Doc West. They released a 2004 LP, From Now On that featured reigning emcees of the time such as Kool G Rap, JUICE, Mr. Lif, Louis Logic, Earatik Statik, and others.

After the LP the duo more or less went on hiatus and Rude took ceased production duties. He started feeling creative again earlier this year, and quietly started making new music, collaborating with emcees at SoundScape here and there. The result is going to be his first LP offering in more than a decade, ONEderful. The album will drop via Closed Sessions in early 2016 featuring a lineup of emcees that includes Roc Marciano, Westside Gunn, J-Zone, and others we can’t quite yet divulge.
