Jamall Bufford + Kensaye: “Freedom Is” MINI DOC [Part 1]
Freedom seems more like a concept than a reality. Whether it’s your skin color or your socioeconomic status, non-tangible obstacles get in the way of what should be a tangible human right. The definition of freedom may be vague, but you know freedom when you feel it. The Black Opera’s Jamall Bufford and new TBO member, London producer Kensaye, hope to provide that feeling with their new album “Freedom Isâ€.
“Freedom Is†serves as a question and a statement; “What is freedom?†And “Freedom existsâ€. The answer to the question may be difficult to come by, but most people will agree that the statement is true, you just have to find it. Sonically, the landscape laid by Kensaye is diverse and free, and lyrically Jamall Bufford addresses the injustice that still plagues society while freely expressing himself in any way he wants to. On July 28th, feel free to try Freedom Is, it just might be exactly what you need.
