EK – Dress My Fears ft. Simile [video]
Grammy-winning imprint Defend Music signee Daniel “EK” Ibeh has been building an impressive resume and looks to add onto that with visuals for “Dress My Fears”. In the timely video (following the Caitlyn Jenner story as well as a recently publicized police beating of a 14-year old girl), the Nigerian-American emcee delivers his perspective; unapologetically taking on contemporary discrimination (from skin color, sexual orientation to political views). He manages to do this all while keeping the music refreshing, fueled by a powerful chorus from vocalist Simile.
Fellow Bostonian producer Bueffard Mallary accentuates the track with a cinematic atmosphere; as the chemistry of the duo becomes clear. Don’t be surprised if you find EK’s voice familiar – his “Mean Ol Town” track opened up the Hollywood film “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister And Pete” starring Jennifer Hudson. Yet this is just the beginning for the hard working 24 year old artist, as he aims to destroy all previous project milestones with his upcoming “Hands of Time EP” which will be available for FREE download July 1st via his website at officialekmusic.com.
