Gavin Turek and TOKiMONSTA are a musical match made on MySpace. After meeting on the social networking site years ago, Turek, a rising Los Angeles singer-songwriter inspired by ’70s disco, and TOKiMONSTA (real name: Jennifer Lee), still establishing herself as a producer-DJ in California’s beat scene at the time, decided to work on music together. Their collaborations appear on Tokimonsta’s 2011 EP Creature Dreams, released on Flying Lotus’ label Brainfeeder, and Half Shadows, her 2013 album on Ultra Records.

Now, the two are gearing up to release a joint seven-track EP of future R&B titledYou’re Invited in July. To drum up buzz, Tokimonsta remixed Turek’s track “Frontline,” dialing it down from an shimmery disco song into an after-hours slow-jam. The song comes out this week on IHEARTCOMIX’S digital singles label, 1NFINITY, and you can listen to it exclusively on Billboard.
