ThisisDA – Sell Me [audio]
Following the success of his last single ‘Bounce Back’ which has been championed by RWD Magazine, Urban Development and We Are SME among others, Bristol rapper and producer ThisisDA (pronounced This Is D.A) returns with the politically charged new single ‘Sell Me’, which is taken from his forthcoming EP titled Based Off Black, due to be released in the summer.
Premiered on Complex, ‘Sell Me’ is produced by Spacedtime – who is most notable for working on the critically acclaimed 2014 mixtape The Water[s] from Mick Jenkins – and sees ThisisDA in militant mode, firing off hard-hitting lyrics about racial stereotypes and police brutality, as he focuses on the recent wrongful killings of young Black men in America including Eric Garner and Mike Brown.
With two stellar singles now firmly in the bag and the highly anticipated collaboration with West Coast veteran rapper Blu soon to follow, ThisisDA’s forthcoming Based Off Black EP is quickly shaping up as one of the most anticipated UK Hip Hop records of the year, and surpass the excellence and acclaim of its predecessor – his glorious 2014 debut album Super Arkane.
