Ol’ Burger Beats – High Rhodes [LP] (ft. ScienZe, Quelle Chris, Denmark Vessey & Choosey)
Norwegian hip hop producer Ol’ Burger Beats (Ole-Birger Neergård) just released his first album. He’s 22 years old and lives in Oslo. His tracks are jazzy, and get played a lot on Norwegian radio. The last two years the young producer has worked on his first full-length album. The album is finally out, and was released last monday (27.10.14) through The Soul Dojo, an L.A.-based beat label. The album is called High Rhodes LP, named after Ol’ Burger’s favorite instrument, the Fender Rhodes piano. The Rhodes piano appears in all of the beats. Every track is loaded with dusty vinyl jazz samples, hard-hitting drums and synth strings, inspired by producers such as J Dilla, Madlib and Pete Rock. High Rhodes LP has a relaxing laid-back sound to it, perfect for lazy autumn afternoons.
The record is 10 tracks long, where six of the tracks are pure instrumentals. The four others are featured by some of Ol’ Burger’s favorite rappers right now;
ScienZe (DopeLeague), Quelle Chris (Mello Music Group) Denmark Vessey and Choosey (Dirty Science).
