“The Long Way” is the second single from Maryann’s upcoming Ep “This Is What The Moon Sounds Like”. The track has a very different feel from the Futuristic dreamy tone of “Landing”. The song sounds like an up to date version of what her and producer Sbvce were doing on her first project “Timing Is Everything”. The duo wanted to remind people that although they are know for their Futuristic R&B, they still come from a Hip Hop background. The vibe sounds something like J Dilla meets Timbaland and Nelly Furtado. Producer Sbvce even comes out of the background and throws a hot 16 onto the Reggae influenced track. This is definitely a different sound from the pair, but in a way that will make you want to dance and maybe take an Island vacation.
