On Friday, September 12, at the Fade 2 Famous barbershop in Brooklyn, New York, Slaughterhouse mic murderer Joell Ortiz and DJBooth.net came together to create the first Fade to Famous cypher. Over 150 local emcees auditioned for the chance to spit in a neighborhood cypher with Joell, from which the five most impressive entrants were selected.
