After an extended hiatus, Portland’s Obese Chess returns with the second single from his upcoming album Mata Hari, “Beat Cops,” featuring a guest appearance from Brown Bag All Star Soul Khan.

The Portland newcomer holds his own alongside the Brooklyn veteran in a witty celebration of authenticity that takes shots at cultural gatekeepers, insincerity, and the rules of the game.

Mata Hari is due to be released August 1 and is produced entirely by The Labor Department.
