Low Leaf – Akashaalay [album stream]
Low Leaf continues to prove why she’s one of LA’s most promising up and coming talents.
The singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist released her album “Akashaalay” today which serves as a 10 song spiritual tribute to Low Leaf’s homeland, The Philippines. Inspired by her extended stays there and the recent tragedies the islands have recently faced, the album tackles themes of unity, chaos, gratitude and resurgence – all rooted in tradition but looking towards the future.
All songs on “Akashaalay” were written by Low Leaf, except for “Bahay Kubo” (traditional Filipino folk song), and the album’s sonic foundation blends a mix of electronic experimentation fused w/ various instruments played by Low Leaf, including her acoustic harp.
