Chicago emcee Verbal Kent has been handling business these last few years. He teamed up with Detroit’s Apollo Brown & Red Pill for the sucessful group album Ugly Heroes; toured Europe to sold out shows; started a few businesses in his hometown of Chicago; and then linked up with Soul Council prodcuer Khrysis for a full length solo album. The new album featured thirteen soul sampled, speaker slapping beats from Khrysis – boom bap classsics. Then Grammy Award winning producer 9th Wonder threw in a remix of the title track. All in all, a nice run the agressive emcee is looking to extend.

Today, Verbal Kent teamed up with DJ Booth to give back by offering the complete set of album instrumentals from Khrysis for free to the first 1000 downloads – including the 9th Wonder produced beat Sound of the Weapon.
