Hus Kingpin “Ice Cream” (Prod by Chuck Strangers) [mp3]
Born in Brooklyn, hailing from Hempstead, with parents of Caribbean descent, Hus Kingpin cut his teeth overseas, as he launched his career on Tokyo label Goon Trax. With a rapid overseas following, Hus returned to the states and signed a deal with burgeoning Indy label Mello Music Group to release his Roc Marciano assisted The Cognac Tape (2013) which also featured production from Khrysis and The Snowgoons.
Known for his bravado and his ability to blend gutter rhymes over haunting production, Hus sought the perfect compliment to his defiant rhymes for his return and found the dichotomy he was searching for with Pro Era beatsmith Chuck Strangers. Previously named one of Complex’s “Top 25 Producers To Watch Out For†Chuck has contributed to most of Joey Bada$$’ projects and manned the boards for several of Joey’s fan favorites including; “Suspects,” “FromdaTomb$,” and “Daily Routine.”
In April, Hus Kingpin and Chuck Strangers will release there Hus Kingpin Meets Pro Era EP a six-track offering entirely produced by Chuck Strangers that displays the versatility of both artists. Hus will follow up his EP with new singles featuring Guilty Simpson and another collaboration with Roc Marciano which once again highlights there undeniable chemistry.
Today, Hus releases the first track, “Ice Cream,†f/ Smoovth & Mach Hommy from his collaborative project with Chuck Strangers
