In the vein of the classic, timeless, and golden era of Soul music, Aaron Abernathy, professionally known as Ab is relighting the torch and paying homage to the 7 inch vinyl record 45s with his “A” and “B” side project entitled “45 Series, Vol. 1.”

An ode to the classic 7-inch record culture, this collector’s item consists of an upbeat A-side record produced by long time collaborator Black Milk. “Stop Fakin’” features a strong lead vocal from Ab, coupled with Funkadelic-like background vocals. The contrasting B-Side is reminiscent of greats like Donny Hathaway, Isaac Hayes, and Curtis Mayfield, who were known to orchestrate masterpieces without singing a note; leaving the instruments to speak freely. “Stevie’s Lament” is an ethereal composition written by Ab on behalf of his close friend and is a poignant expression of the pain of losing both life and love in one fell swoop. Fitting in its format, its melody portrays a pain that is, in its nature, beyond words.
