While plenty of rappers, including Common, tried their hand at Jay Z’s “Open Letter”, I hadn’t heard much in the way of producers attempting to flip the Magna Carta… Holy Grail precursor. But shortly after the track hit the web, Potholes Music producer Danny! shot me an email with an early version of his remix of “Open Letter”.

As is the case whenever he sends over new music, I was intrigued and then impressed. But those feelings increased immensely this morning with the arrival of his final version of the track. It’s brassy, celebratory, and upbeat in the best way possible. Make sure you play this one at full volume with the windows open.
