With infectious energy and vivacious vibrancy, Gavin Turek unleashes her newest song and video, “Let Me Go,” the second single from her forthcoming concept EP, The Break-Up Tape.

By juxtaposing nostalgic dance melodies with the heartbreak from relationships gone sour, Gavin Turek’s retro pop sound digs deeper than most. It’s a summery departure from some of the darker collaborations she’s starred on, be it some of TOKiMONSTA’s biggest hits (“Little Pleasures,” “Darkest (Dim),” “Clean Slate” and “Foolish”) or her multilingual electronica on Com Truise vs. Gavin Turek: A (Re)Mix Tape.

The video for “Let Me Go” — which was shot and chopped on eight iPhones — shows off the rising star’s undeniable performance abilities, as she sings and dances her way through various frames and outfits with a simplicity that allows her to truly shine.

The Los Angeles-based artist’s hard work is gaining steam across the Internet. Her collaboration with Tropics, “Courage,” was recently presented by BBC’s Annie Mac and is burning up SoundCloud with a laconic fever and its accompanying chill. The song couldn’t be further along the spectrum than “Let Me Go,” which is yet another example of the multifaceted talents of an artist with a singular vision that refracts into a rainbow’s worth of color.
