The Scoreboard Sisters – Heroes & Villains EP (ft. Homeboy Sandman, 2 Dash Tone & more)

The Scottish-based production duo first met in their high school’s all-female choir, where they realized together their love for hip-hop and lack of vocal talent. Without contributing much, the drummer and the guitarist remained in choir throughout high school, just so they could listen to the singing everyday. Meanwhile, they had linked up with various punk and jazz bands throughout the city of Glasgow, though never lasting long with any. In 2010 The Scoreboard Sisters learned how to sample the music of their favorite records, and the long-time hip-hop lovers were finally able to truly discover their greatest influences. Over the past 2 years they have spent most of their time digging through crates, skimming through album credits, and studying the evolving production techniques of their favorite producers (Q-Tip, J. Dilla, Madlib, Metal Fingers, T-Ray, DJ Premier, Questlove, DJ Shadow, et cetera). The Scoreboard Sisters have recently reached out to several of their favorite MC’s who have agreed to be a part of their first independent release; entitled Heroes & Villains (8/23).
