Rapper-producer Sheefy McFly jumped on the radar in a big way two weeks back when he dropped “Hilfigger” with fellow Detroit native Boldy James. Today, delivers his latest project in the Outkast-referencing Northernplayalistikcapricemuzik mixtape. Don’t expect too many similarities to Andre 3000 and Big Boi, though.

Rather, this is the addictive brand of in-your-face aggressive boom-bap that’s been making the rounds in the Motor City thanks to the likes of Danny Brown, Dopehead, and other members of the Bruiser Brigade. Anyone who’s followed McFly’s career shouldn’t be too surprised by that, however, as he appeared as a producer on Dopehead’s excellent Plaid Palm Trees project.

On Northernplayalistikcapricemuzik, though, the focus remains on McFly’s hilarious don’t-give-a-f*ck wordplay and absolutely crushing production.
