On October 13th however something really magical happened – a string quartet in a dive bar?!? Miguel Atwood-Ferguson is familiar to readers of this blog for his work on Suite for Ma Dukes and more recently his arrangement of “Is this Love” for Bilal. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the birth of John Lennon, Miguel arranged 17 Lennon compositions for his string quartet, “Quartetto Fantastico.” Here, in a one shot, B+ puts the magical evening in context by walking from the little Norteno bar across the street into Footsies mid performance….
