Bio:

Part of what makes Lushlife’s music so dynamic is the Philly producer/emcee’s love of subverting notions of what flies within the hip-hop idiom. Live mandolin overdubs? Rapping over an Ariel Pink sample? It would sound chancy if it didn’t work so well. So when the idea surfaced of assembling a remix collection for his much loved Cassette City album (already cited one of the top 10 hip-hop albums of the year by Amazon) it came as no surprise that Lushlife reached outside of the hip-hop stable for a series of re-imaginations of his material.
